I'm Dhruv — a self-taught doodle artist from Jaipur, drawing my way to becoming the name the world says when it says "doodle".
Bad at drawing. Good at doodling.
I failed my 12th. I got rejected by every design school I applied to. I was told, kindly and otherwise, that I couldn't draw. So I stopped trying to draw well and started drawing a lot — small, crowded, happy characters with too much going on. That "too much" turned out to be the style.
Today that doodle lives on palace-wedding boards, 15-foot brand walls, packaging, Comic Con booths across India, and in the homes of people who asked me to turn their memories into characters. Alongside the art I run a design studio, so brands get the doodle and the thinking behind it.
